Illustrious eye prompts, tested
Twenty-three eye tags on the same face, framed as a portrait so you can see the eyes: colors, pupils, eyelids, makeup and glasses. Same two seeds for every tag.
The test
Every tile below uses the same prompt with one tag swapped in, on the same two seeds (1001 and 1002), on SirenRender’s free anime tile: WAI-Illustrious-SDXL v17 with the DMD2 LoRA, 8 steps, CFG 1, 832×1216. {TAG} marks where each tag goes:
What we found
Eye color is as dependable as hair color on WAI v17. All ten named colors came out as named on both seeds, with pink leaning mauve, so an eye color tag is one of the safest things to add to a prompt.
- Special pupils work, with side effects.
slit pupils,star-shaped pupilsandglowing eyesshowed on both seeds. The star tag also put stars in her earrings, andglowing eyesdarkened the whole picture. - Glasses and eyepatches are reliable. Both showed on both seeds, so accessories around the eyes are easy to get.
- Makeup tags are light.
eyelinerandeyeshadowwere visible, but faint on one seed each. - Shape tags barely register.
tsurime(upturned eyes) andgradient eyeswere hard to tell from the base face, andheterochromiaworked on one seed of two.
To combine these with tested hair, eye, clothing, pose and background tags, use the Illustrious prompt builder: every tag above that made a visible change is in it, with its render.
