Illustrious clothing prompts, tested
Twenty-four clothing and outfit tags on the same character and street, from business suit to plate armor. Same two seeds for every tag, so the outfit is the only thing that changes.
The test
Every tile below uses the same prompt with one tag swapped in, on the same two seeds (1001 and 1002), on SirenRender’s free anime tile: WAI-Illustrious-SDXL v17 with the DMD2 LoRA, 8 steps, CFG 1, 832×1216. {TAG} marks where each tag goes:
What we found
All 24 clothing tags showed up on both seeds, the cleanest result of any tag group we have tested on WAI v17 (places came second, with 20 of 24). Name the garment and you get it.
- Some tags bring more than the garment.
raincoatturned the street wet on both seeds, hanfuadded an updo with hairpins, wedding dressadded a veil, anddenim jacketcame with jeans. - Without a color, expect beige. Nine of the 24 tags came out beige, cream or brown on both seeds, most of them knitwear. Try putting the color in the tag, like
red hoodie, when you want something else. - Framing decides how much outfit you see. These are
cowboy shot, mid-thigh up. For long coats, gowns and armor, full bodyshows the whole thing; it was one of the strongest tags on the framing page.
To combine these with tested hair, eye, clothing, pose and background tags, use the Illustrious prompt builder: every tag above that made a visible change is in it, with its render.
