Why it works

  • retro artstyle and 1990s (style) together switch WAI to cel-era faces: sharper chins, glossy lips, heavier eye makeup, warmer skin.
  • city, night and neon lights give the city-pop backdrop of stacked vertical signs on every seed.
  • red jacket against the red and white signs keeps the palette tight, which is half of what makes it read as a 90s cel.

Make it yours

  • Swap 1990s (style) for 1980s (style) for bigger hair and softer color.
  • Change night, neon lights to beach, sunset for a summer city-pop cover.
  • The shop signs are made-up lettering on every seed. That’s normal for WAI and it suits the look.
